What does it cost?
Why are some Instructors offering lessons for £10 - £12/hr? What sort of service are they offering for that amount of money? Why do they have to entice new pupils with silly prices? How can they run their business successfully, when running costs are so high?
Why do some national Driving Schools charge more than Independent Instructors? Who pays for all their staff? Who pays for their advertising budget? Their Instructors have to train lots of pupils every day in order to pay their expensive franchise fee, so would you like to be their last pupil of the day?
There are some Instructors offering lessons for £20 - £22/hr. They have a good reputation and pass rate, and have been in business a long time. They make a decent living from training a few quality pupils and can give the same high standard of training at the end of the day after fewer pupils.
Ill let you decide which type of Driving Instructor to use.
The basic cost of training is simple:
£21 per hour
£42 for 2 hours
Get a FREE hour lesson. Just pay for the 10 hours (£210) and get the next hour free (works out at just over £19 per hour for 11 hours). After that, the price returns to £21 per hour.
Once you’ve passed, you can help decrease your car insurance costs by having some extra training with the ‘Pass Plus’ course, (especially some Motorway training).
I DO NOT offer intensive training. The intensive course is generally 6 hours a day for 5 days with a test on the afternoon of last day. From past experience, I’ve found that the pupil gets information overload by day 2 or 3 and gives up. Neither you nor I can guarantee you’ll be ready for the test by the last day – it’s a lottery and you know how hard that is to win, so
